Tommy Crush Foundation Nobody should suffer in silence

INTRODUCTION

Tommy was a happy, fun, smart, handsome boy who had lots of friends and who was loved.

Tommy was not someone who looked lost, anxious, depressed or sad.

This is why we need to raise awareness & show people that it’s not what is on the outside, it’s the bit we can’t see.

The Foundation was set up in Tommy’s name, to help as many teenagers and young adults as possible who may feel vulnerable to suicide through poor mental health.

We will continue to raise necessary funds & awareness to try & change the outcome for another young person who may be suffering in silence & to stop another family losing a son or daughter, brother or sister.

Partnerships

Kent FA Mental Health Champions will be encouraged to run an event within their club or league to raise awareness of the support available and they’ll be able to signpost young people to professional care if they need it. Luke Baker, Football Development Officer for Youth Football, said: “The importance of a project like this cannot be underestimated.

Mental Health First Aid

Our foundation has delivered the Mental Health First Aid ‘Mental Health Aware’ Course to hundreds of grassroots coaches impacting 1000’s of young people who now have someone to turn to within their grassroots environment.

Young Ambassadors

Our Young Ambassadors are passionate young people and keen sportspeople who understand the importance of teamwork, resilience, and supporting one another both on and off the field.

They use their voices and platforms to raise awareness, encourage open conversations, and remind others that it is okay to speak up and reach out for help.

Through kindness, courage, and peer leadership, they help break the stigma surrounding mental health and create safe spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and supported.
